Broner, also the reigning WBC lightweight champion and WBO super featherweight champion, improved to 27-0 after stepping up two weight divisions to fight Malignaggi in his home town of New York. Broner joined Roberto Duran, Roy Jones Jnr and Robert Guerrero as the only fighters to win a world title in their first bout after jumping up two weight classes to fight.
Malignaggi, nine years older than his opponent at age 32, fell to 32-5 and complained about the most lopsided judge's decision against him. [Click Here To Read More]

People thought this was a close fight? Really? I give paulie credit, not only did he show heart staying in there but he never stopped trying to win either. But broner kicked his ass, i had it 116-112. I can see you switching a round in either direction but i can not see any other winner than broner.
This is pro boxing and broner was doing all the damage, landing not just harder but cleaner punches and walking paulie into them. Most of paulies connects were glancing blows and none of them had power, we all know he lacks power but he wasnt even putting what little pop he does have into the shots.
He missed a lot too, i think thats where the confusion lies. Not only do you not score points for missing punches but your oponent scores on defense. Offense trumps defense so if paulie got a punch in there he got the better of it, but if he didnt and broner made him miss everything you have to give broner credit.
But the quality of the offense is really all you have to look at.
