    How was tonight for boxing?

I thought tonight was horrible for boxing but thought I would see what everyone else thinks?
We start off with a terrible title fight in Bika vs Periban. Neither of these guys deserved a shot at a title and even though it was a fun fight, both of them showed how poor they are... nowhere near world level yet Bika now holds the WBC title, what a joke. Also Periban mouthing off at the end.
Then we get Mitchell - Banks 2. Enough said.
Then even though the main event was a good fight, the ref was clearly in Al Haymon's pocket (not giving any points away) it ended in a bitter manner, Broner was classless post fight and Paulie suggesting the judge from NY was paid off.
Not exactly a great way to entice in new fans was it?

It wasn't a great night but boxing will live on, it always has and always will...

Now when Floyd retires then maybe boxing should worry a bit because there is no true American star on the rise but regardless the sport will live on...

Completely agree with you. Bika and the Mexican stiff that he was fighting could have been exciting if either bozo was actually in punching range while they were slinging sloppy hooks and overhand rights at one another.

Just a terrible, woeful advertisement for boxing at this level.

Well christ, if you put it that way...

We've had some solid weekends in the last few months, I won't complain.

At least the Bika fight was entertaining. Perfect for a casual viewer and hard-core fan alike.

Broner-Malignaggi was a good fight...just because Broner doesn't appear to be the next Floyd (I for one never thought he was) doesn't mean it was a BAD night...

If it wasn't for that garbage Mitchell-Banks 2, I would have said it was a good night...

There was something very weird about that Banks-Mitchell fight. I'm not given to conspiracy theories, but you have to wonder if something dirty going on behind the scenes. Banks showed he could hurt Mitchell, and did so repeatedly in the 1st 4 rounds, and then takes the next 8 rounds off.
