    Ajose Olusegun- A Warrior's Dream

I was looking forward to seeing Ajose get back in the Win column against Mercito Gesta this summer. That fight was recently cancelled after Gesta pulled out due to injury. Now Ajose is once again stuck without a fight and this reminded me of the screw job the WBC and Golden Boy put on him. For those who aren't aware of his history, Ajose's dream is to fight for a major title. But he's received the Matthysse/Lara treatment with title eliminators and interim defenses. In short, he was supposed to fight Morales for a shot at the WBC strap. That honor went to Danny. He was supposed to fight Danny but Danny fought Khan. He endured failed purse bids and broken promises but still no shot. Then he was inexplicably fed to Matthysse to defend his interim belt. This is after waiting a year without fighting trying to get a shot at Danny. My question is how do we make things right?

How about Ajose vs. Lamont Peterson for the IBF title? It's not like Peterson deserves to have the title anymore anyway. He just lost.

Well it was a bit sad but GBP had to get rid of either him or Matthyse because the pressure was coming on a bit for Danny Garcia. Something needs to be done by the organisation, either vacate or fight your mandatory. Hope Ajose has fully recovered from those shots that he took from Lucas but I know he must have left something in that ring that night. IMO he would never be the same again.

He ain't that good and you're crying that he fought a proper fighter instead of a scrub for a vacant belt?.

No, I felt he deserved a shot at Morales or Garcia since he was the mandatory. He's not good enough to beat Matthysse. That was an easy way to get him out the picture. Where did you get the vacant belt from? He's a solid fighter by the way.

You felt he deserved a shot at Morales because he was shot to bits and an easy target more like.

Also if i remember correctly he was paid step-a-side money which he could have turned down.

Good point. He did take a beating that night. Too many guys avoid fighting their mandatories nowadays. It's time to improve the infrastructure in boxing.

This is more so about deserving a title shot against Morales or Garcia not picking on an older fighter. Plus once Morales won the belt, he's expected to defend it. Right?

No, he didnt take any money that was a rumor. He tried to wait for Danny to fight him.The fight was never going to happen. The Morales fight just never happened either. This wasn't one attempt at a title fight that fell through it was numerous. I think Peterson vs. Ajose is a solid fight.

I thought the same thing about Gesta too. Surprised he took the fight in the first place.
