    BoxingScene.com has been advised by Top Rank CEO and founder Bob Arum that a fight between Julio Cesar Chavez (46-1-1, 32KOs) and Brian Vera (23-6, 14KOs), taking place a few pounds above the middleweight limit, has been confirmed for September 7th in Los Angeles at the Staples Center.

    The September 7th date is also being considered by rival promoter Golden Boy Promotions for a possible junior welterweight collision between WBC/WBA champion Danny Garcia and mandatory challenger Lucas Matthysse.

              Gee, I wonder which fight true boxing fans would tune in to? Danny Garcia vs Lucas Matthysse or Chavez Jr. vs Brian *snore* Vera? Hey Bob, you might consider moving this mismatch to another date or finding a better opponent for Jr. Otherwise...get your VCR's warmed up, guys.

                  If the price is right, ill go watch it at the staples center and record matthysse vs garcia. If price is too much, ill just watch both at home.

                          People will watch Chavez Jr. He's the highest ratings draw in boxing. If anything, this will force Golden Boy to move Garcia/Matthysse. This worries me because it might give Garcia a way out of the fight for now.

                                  It's sad that althought Garcia vs Lucas is the better fight. But i would put money on Chavez jr fight pulling the better number of people watching.
