After the Klitschko's retire that's for sure. Unless HBO will sponsor one of the americans, which I doubt very much.

Not ever, unless an American wins a title.

Best hope for big heavyweight fights might be for Deontay Wilder to pick up a strap which is possible down the line if they manage him carefully and get him in there for a vacant title.

It's possible once the klitschkos retire that a Wilder could win one of the vacant ones and make a couple of defences

Hopefully Wladimir will hang around long enough to KO Wilder.

I think Wlad is gonna hang around for another 4 years (maybe 5) and continue to dominate and continue to make bank.

Hopefully the next group of heavies that comes in will be competitive with each other and not a group of posers!!! The Champ needs to be charismatic and talented along with being able and willing to defend the title all over the world! Te Heavyweight Champion should be known all over the world by all sports fans not just boxing fans and thats been missing for some time now!
The Klitz bros coulde have done the job because their not ****** young men their capable of handling any interviews and be understood in any culture!!!
However they never did it!!! They had their chance a few years ago but they prefered the safer route and remained locals instead of world wide!!! Ray.

Right not the average American probably could not name the current HW Champ.

              It will be awhile.

Klitschkos are big stars in Europe, USA is not the center of the world, you know.

                  It is in boxing.

If wlad fights again in the US I don't think its going to be Vegas unless maybe HBO purchases a wilder/jennings/mitchell fight. Probably NY or LA where the is a larger concentration of northern europeans and russians to market the fight to.

It'll take years long of advertising and maybe little incentive to get our "gifted" HW boxers to actual be champs.

Not so slobby fat HW like Eddie Chambers, someone like the good days Holyfield, Tyson, Lewis, etc.

The thing is most tall gifted people go somewhere esle in sports in an understandable route.

They mostly go for basketball or football and it makes sense because if you want a good shot at the Pros, you goto the college and finish 4 years and play there. If you wont make it in basketball, football or baseball you have a good degree to fall back on.

Can you say the same with boxing? Can you box in HS ? yes. Can you get scholarships for boxing? Maybe, can you box in a organized top level league in College? No... golden gloves like tournaments thats all. Can you get drafted into boxing after college? No unless you catch someones guy. Not like other sports you have drafts and various scouts to see people all over the world for talent. That's why boxing HW fails and why you mostly see hispanics dominating lower weight classes imO.

main point theres alot of risk and little fall back reward in boxing growing up. Basketball baseball football you get a degree and a good shot at getting drafted. Boxing is different.
