Comments Thread For: Moruti Mthalane Gets Silvio Olteanu as His IBF Mandatory

EBU flyweight champion Silvio Olteanu, 14-6-1, is now mandatory challenger for IBF champ South African Moruti Mthalane, 29-2. IBF have set July 5 as the date for purse bids.

Rimer Boxe, headed by Richard Sanchez Atocha, hopes to get the fight to Spain.

Olteanu´s record only shows that is not the numbers that count but who you have been in with that matters. [Click Here To Read More]

Really? Olteanu will give Mthalane some rounds but he's 35 and just won a narrow SD over Mthalane's 2011 mandatory, Sarritzu, whom Mthalane handled with ease. This will be a wide UD win for Mthalane. He is a good fighter who needs to fight more (4 defenses in 3 1/2 years as belt holder) and get a chance at the big boys in the division.

It was in the other guy's hometown though. I haven't seen it, but I can't imagine Italy is very good on neutral judging.

I thought this guy should have got the decision vs Kameda for the belt. He's not beating Mthalane, but don't mind that he's getting a chance.

Olteanu is fine for a keep busy defense if somebody is gonna fight two or three times a year but Mthalane isn't all that active. He's just one of those guys I'd like to see in a big fight to see wht he can do. But if I'm in Spain at the time I'd go see Olteanu-Mthalane
