I think Khan is a guy that can bring in a lot of fans. I think Golden Boy is hoping Khan doesn't get sparked again at WW so they can match him up with Floyd next summer.

But who can Khan beat that is a legit WW? He has to beat someone top ranked to get a Mayweather fight

      Berto sparks him
      Devon might spark him
      Thurman Sparks him
      Ortiz sparks him
      Guerrero sparks him

The only top WW that he might beat is Mosley, Paulie, and maybe Bradley, but Bradley is Top Rank.

However, even if that were the case, I think the Floyd deal is far bigger than PPV buys. Its ok to take a lil loss to shift the balance of power. There are alot of teams who will go in debt in the short term to bring Lebron over because they know it helps in the long term.

Mayweather comes over which brings more viewers. More than that, he brings the bigger name boxers over with him. Even if you lose out some with Floyd, you make up for it by the other names he influnced to come over.

The fact is that HBO has always been the dominant figure. They still are. Its not going to be an overnight shift but getting Floyd makes it slowly start to change. They can go from being 100% less now down to just 80% less than HBO. By the end of the year it will be 70%.

By the end of next year it could be down to 40 or 50%. By the end of his deal they should be nearly even or better or just a lil less. Either way it would be well worth it as by that time Showtime will be considered the #1 boxing station
You know what would make SHO #1, by far? If they saved that 12m they may have lost on Guerrero, and put it right back into their boxing budget. It would dwarf HBOs.

I think Canelo will be Floyds last fight and the reason is he will keep losing CBS/SHO huge amounts of money

He fell short of the breakeven point 300k for the Guerrerro fight

That means he needs to sell 1.5 million for the Canelo to break even for the year. The Canelo fight will obviously have much more advertising. They are doing a 11 city tour to promote the fight. Then you have advertising and marketing. Thats gonna cost $10's of million by itself. So he'll need to sell at least 1.8 million PPV's just to break even.

Theres simply no way this fight will even come close to that. At the end of the year CBS/SHO will reevaluate this deal and if there losing 20+ million and there are no big fights for him on the horizon than they will cancel the contract. Floyd doesn't give a **** about CBS/SHO and vice versa. Don't forget this is the same guy who burns $100 at clubs which is illegal.

When are you leaving for china? You can go on their NSB and hate on zhou and say he is selling ppv's because manny is on the undercard.

It's illegal to hate on Shiming in China, and should be so everywhere.

And let me guess...You think Pacquiao could do better with PPV sells? What is he gonna fight Marquez 4-5 more times? Marquez Vs Pac 9?

So to avoid a issue like the Guerrero fight, lets say if Mayweather beats Canelo, no draw, controversy, so no reason for a rematch.

Who does Mayweather fight at that point? There are many legit fights to be made, but which ones will satisfy the PPV requirements of Showtime?
Of course Pacquiao and Martinez fight will do it, but there has to be other realistic options.

After Canelo, Mayweather's next 2 opponents will be the Khan vs Alexander winner and the Garcia vs matthysse winner

I know this might sound crazy but I wouldn't be surprised if they end this agreement after the canelo fight ( unless there is a rematch ) and then cut their loses. The gaurentees are just absurd, which is why hbo said no way. I still think cotto was more popular than canelo at the time of the mayweather fight so I think 1.5 mill would be a good number for this card where showtime prolly makes half of what they lost back, and then take it out of the budget of next year. I mean with 30 mill gaurentees with promotion and everything your looking at 1.1-1.2 to break even. No jw/ww can develop that kind of interest, well marquez but he said no so idk.

Biggest fights for him outside of the canelo clash would be

                      Floyd-broner
                      Floyd-manny
                      floyd-bradley if he beats jmm
                      Floyd- lucas/garcia winner

Problem is most of those fights will never be made due to hbo/sho/gbp/toprank but those are the biggest draws...

I think a more realistic schedule would be
                      1. Guerrero may 2013
                      2. Canelo sept 2013
                      3. Danny/lucas winner may 2014
                      4. ortiz 2 sept 2014
                      5. Khan/alexander winner may 2015
6.. ???? not sure, to far out to predict sept 2015
