  • How would Hopkins fair in Today's Middleweight division

Just wondering how hopkins of 1995-2004 would do in the current middleweight division..

Me personally, I think he schools GGG, Quillen, and Chavez JR...

Serg might cause him problems with hand speed and movement but i think hopkins would break him down late.... Geale could be a wildcard but i think hopkins should handle him

    What do you guys think

Martinez wouldn't have caused him any type of problems, Hopkins was far too tricky with his feet not to have gotten in on Martinez, his foot speed was too good as well, he would have went to work and possibly gotten Martinez out of there. 2004 is where his prime ended, I'm talkin' more up to 2003.

I agree, but oscar did well early vs hopkins with his hand speed and moving in and out, hopkins was just much bigger,, Serg is slightly bigger than oscar and more athletic so i think Serg would cause him a few problems but in the end hopkins would break him down...

Hopkins looked horrible in my opinion, not one of his best performances but he was made to come down to 156 and we're talkin' about a fighter who should have moved up a while back too.

Can you explain why he stops Golovkin and decisions Quillin?

Sergio is getting on now but Prime Hopkins vs Prime Martinez would have been a great fight. I am not sure who would have won that. But a Prime Hopkins beats GG,Quillen and Chavez JR easily.

                1. Martinez - for his athleticism handspeed, footspeed and awkwardness I could see him giving Hopkins some problems early, but I could see Hopkins winning a competitive split decision. 115-113 with maybe a draw on one card!

                2. Golovkin's Sheer power, underrated ring smarts and technique as well as his commitment to the body would give B-Hop problems all night, but Hopkin's world class chin, IQ, and savvy would see him win a close but clear decision. 116-112

                3. Quillin - has that atom bomb of a right hand... But that's really it. A shot to **** Winky Wright didn't look outclassed by him, and N'Jikam was winning the fight had it not been for the knockdowns.

I could see Hopkins taking away the right hand by the 2nd round and putting on a clinic for the next 10 rounds! 118-110/119-109

                4. Geale - I could see that fight turning out similar to Golovkin, but Geale not possessing the power, smarts or technique of GGG, B-Hop would find it easier. 117-111

                5. Chavez Jr. - Let's be real, Chavez' greatest asset is outweighing guys by 20+ lbs, Hopkin's who was himself a big middleweight, wouldn't be too concerned by being outweighed by 5-10lbs.. Chavez' doesn't have a bad inside game, and works the body well but this is a walkover. 119-109/120-108

I consider Hopkins the greatest fighter of the last 20 years, if he was starting over in this decade I still see him getting his record defences

turdkins wouldn't even fight in that division if GGG was there. GGG is too much for him.
