I did not think Donaire stood a chance in the first fight but gave him a lot of credit for having the guts to take the fight. Other than having a puncher's chance I just could not see him winning and placed a big bet that I was VERY confident in. I think his chances in a rematch are even worse and I don't see him having the tools to bring anything new to the ring that will cause Rigondeaux problems.
I don't think a rematch is wise but if Donaire wants it you have to admire his courage.Rigondeaux is an exceptiional fighter,a master boxer a real phenom. If he was not Cuban and started his pro career earlier he would have dominated and would have been recognized as a super elite fighter. He is starting to get that recognition now after defeating Donaire.
Donaire is a great fighter but Rigondeaux is a greater one. When and if the rematch is made and the inevitable happens and Donaire loses. People will say Donaire was a hype job and was not ever really that good and this is not fair. Donaire is a great fighter and Rigondeaux is a once in a lifetime exceptional one.

I'm sorry but Robert Garcia is a shhhht trainer..honestly how do you let a defending champion go into his toughest fight by only training him over the phone..OVER THE F'ING PHONE!! I'm not saying the outcome would've been different but come on..G T FOH..I feel Garcia and Virgil Hunter have some decent boxers who are worthy of praise but more for their physical talents than anything. Donaire needs him a new trainer..get the unemployed dude who trained Sergio Martinez when he was at his best..the Sarmiento dude and you are good to go..bet you he won't be training you over skype.

I don't think Garcia is the greatest trainer but I very much doubt he suggested training over the phone was the way to go. I put that down to Donaire acting like a diva.

It takes guts to be a fighter bt he avoided rigo for as long as he could down talked him and then got spanked and made excuses. If u claim to be the best don't duck.

I want to see how Rigo fares well against other opponets before fighting Donaire again. After three fights, then I would like to see a rematch.

Besides this is a risky fight for Rigo, Donaire can possibly beat him.

I'd hope Donaire could put on the performance of his life, and not expect it in the least.

Nonito is capable of doing a lot more than he showed the first time
gotta give Rigo some props, it wasn't all Nonito looking bad
but he eked out 3 rds and a KD looking ish
in better form, he can get a clear win on Rigo
was disappointed as hell watching him get worked the 1st time
he needs to redeem himself, glad he wants the rematch
Rigo has no other options, so this better happen

Rigo only has like 12 fights under his belt? I would like to see him against other opponents before fighting Donaire again. There is a possible fight with Darchinyan, I would like to see that, or Mares at 126. If Rigo and his handlers are smart they would avoid Donaire for now.

And you are right, Doniare can possibly beat Rigo in a rematch, he certainly would fight better. But Donaire has issues with his trainer, so he has to sort that out. I think Donaire is just talking.
