Comments Thread For: Gennady Golovkin Hopes To Get Sergio Martinez in 2014

BoxingScene.com was on hand for one of Gennady Golovkin's recent sparring sessions as he prepares for his June 29th showdown against Mathew Macklin. Golovkin has held his recent training camps up in the high altitude of Big Bear, CA at his trainer Abel Sanchez's facility called The Summit. He said that everything has gone smoothly.

"My training camp has been fantastic. I have had a great time. I've had great sparring and everything is going well. My guys have helped me. Every two rounds we like to change them up so that we can have a fresh guy with a different style," Golovkin stated.

That would be a good fight. I hope GGG looks good against Macklin.

Martinez might have 1 or 2 fights left.

he's said many times he isn't fighting past 40. he turns 40 next year.

he'll be looking to fight Cotto, Canelo or even Mayweather.

he looked shot enough in his last fight for any one of those guys to fight him now, so I think he'll probably get it.

I think he'll fight Cotto next year at 160. it's Cotto's best chance to win a title at 160, which he's talked about wanting to do. if Cotto beats Martinez he'll probably retire or have a rematch.

should Martinez win and look somewhat good, I bet he fights Canelo. if he looks bad against Cotto, Mayweather will be knocking on his door you can bet on it.

Golovkin will probaby have to move up like Martinez did inorder to get fights. it seems like Martinez will be looking to cash out and GGG won't put up that kind of cash.

Martinez won't fight Triple G. Di Bella will give another no name and claim that Triple G doesn't bring anything to the table. He will go on to fight another no name or continue to chase the smaller Floyd. He certainly won't go up to face those at 168. So forget it.

                Sergio The 0 Taker Wins

GGG better leave Martinez alone. Speed and power kills power. GGG is good but too flat footed. How many 0's do Martinez have to take lol. You can knock Martinez down but you can't win the fight lol. He gets up like Trinidad and finish you off or box u to death. And this is all against way bigger opponents all cause Fraud Gayweather never wanted to scrap at 154 when Sergio was able to make the weight. Sergio still beats Quillen and GGG right now too much skill and experience.

I love Gennady, but Sergio schools his ass all night.GGG has incredible power,Martinez could even win by KO I'm not sure GGG has th stamina to match Sergio's all night education in hit and don't be hit.
