According to promoter Pepe Gomez, he reached an agreement Mr. Honda of Teiken Boxing to have WBC super featherweight champion Takashi Miura (25-2-2, 19KOs) of Japan travel to Cancun to face mandatory challenger Sergio "Yeyo" Thompson (27-2, 25KOs). Gomez says the event will take place on August 17th in Mexico. Miura captured the title in April from Gamaliel Diaz, who went down four times in the contest before the referee waved things off in the ninth round.
