WBO super middleweight champ Robert Stieglitz defends the title against Japanese challenger Yuzo Kiyota, who´s a rather unknown force with no fights outside of Japan, on July 13 in the headliner of SES´ big show in Dresden. Unknown doen´t have to mean poor though and Kiyota comes in with a respectable record of 23-5.

It´s already been announced that female champs Ramona Kuehne and Christina Hammer will defend their respective titles but no opponents have been announced. [Click Here To Read More]

makes sense if you think about it , no one wants to lose there title in their first defense. just keep that title warm for mr groves robert , because he will take it off you when your time comes.

Looking at the quality of this Kiyota he'd have slotted in right well into Calzaghe's resume early 00s.

Not surprising. Stieglitz defended against a lot of cupcakes before the first Abraham fight (his previous defense was against a 38-year-old, 43-9 fighter who had never beaten anyone in the top 50). Kiyota looks like another cupcake with extra frosting.

So his new TV deal will be all about defending his title against sub-standard opposition?

Disappointing. I guess this rules a Froch bout out too.

Give him a break, he just won the title a few months back.

He'll choose a better opponent next time out.

A better one perhaps, but a top opponent? I'd guess a top opponent won't be forthcoming until the end of his 4-fight deal.
