  • Comments Thread For: Kid Galahad Feels Ready For Carl Frampton, Scott Quigg

London - Kid Galahad believes he is now “ready for anyone” after making it a knockout return to the ring.

The WBC International super-bantamweight champion showcased his speed, timing and punch power to give Isaac Nettey the first stoppage defeat of his now 31-fight career.

“I’m ready for anyone - if Scott Quigg wants to fight we’ll get it on, if Carl Frampton wants to fight, we’ll get it on,” Galahad said.

Kid Galahad, 23, fought tough Ghanaian Nettey, who took Rendall Munroe the distance for the vacant Commonwealth super-bantamweight title in 2009, on the James DeGale undercard Saturday night, at Glow, Bluewater, on Channel 5 in the UK and Wealth TV in the US. [Click Here To Read More]

Both Frampton and Quigg would ruin this guy. From what I've seen of him he's just another Mick Hennessy hype job.

Channel 5's coverage of this fight was woeful. They basically told the audience that Galahad had won by KO before the fight was aired; literally said 3 or 4 times that the opponent "has never been stopped in 30 fights"...which kind of gave the game away that he was about to get stopped.

          Mixed feelings about the Kid.

Watched his fight on Channel 5 against Nettey - who was the classic African 'import' in terms of being physically strong and extremely brave but not a very technically accomplished fighter and who only had some basic ring skills to work with - and frankly, Galahad only looked ok.

Yes, the Kid has fast hands, moves sharply and has added some spite to his punches as well. But he got whacked far too often for my liking by a tough lad who attacked in straight lines and whose punches came from the back of the hall.

Quigg and Frampton need to be much further down the line.....far better to have a fight with Rendall Munroe before swimming with the sharks.

I welcome Galahad to the mix, I don't think he's as good as Quigg & Frampton are however, at only 23, plenty of time to improve. His record is starting to shape up for a 14-fight veteran, would definitely benefit from a step-up in competition though. I think he's that sort of fighter, his opposition brings out the best in him.

He's an Ingle fighter, through and through, thus the unorthodox style and angles from which he throws. Fast hands and good footwork, just lacks power and can get complacent at times. Still, I think he has a future and will taste championship level, just falling short.
