    Dehydrating Rehydrating Question

Let's say there is a weightlifter who usually lifts 170 kg in competitions. Sometimes he lifts a bit more and sometimes not quite that much, but generally he lifts about 170 kg.

If this guy lost 10% of his body weight and then started putting it back on ~36 hours before a competition, as many boxers do before a fight, would he still be able to lift his 170 kg?

No. He would be weaken by doing this. Maybe he could lift almost as much but it would weaken him some just as it weakens boxers who do this.

I don't really think you can compare a boxer and a weight lifter. The dynamic of each sport couldn't be more different.
