Actually, there are 11 dates because three of the dates are going to host two press conferences in one day.

Also, the number one rule of promoting is that you can never do too much promotion. Boxing matches have three different levels in the entertainment industry.

First, the fight has to appeal to "fight fans" and make it a big fight. Second, the fight can appeal to "sports fans" and make it a big sporting event. The final step is to make it a "media event."

The difference is how the fight is played out in the media. If it's just a fight, promoters hope to make the late-night news telecast during the sports segment. If it's a sporting event, promoters hope to lead the sports segment of the late-night news telecast.

If the fight attains the media event status, then it makes the lead into the national news.

With this promotion, the fight may be the lead into the evening news nation wide.

im just going to take a wild guess

and say that the may/guerrero fight didnt do as well as they'd hoped and in having 8 tour dates to promote this fight, they are trying to recoup their losses...this fight doest really need that much promotion because its the best fight that can be made. i dont think itll break the all time ppv record but itll still do good/great #'s. i got may by UD by wide scores....117-111

Will the date that the tickets go on sale be announced on the 24th at the first presser?
