  • The whole "We would rather die in the ring" is such a lie..

I mean Cmon now...If maybe the motto was reserved for say The Africans or an ethnic group who never quit....then Maybe and I say MAYBE then it would a worthy description.

But cmon guys..It just isnt a fitting badge for some people.

So lets stop using this line please.

Oh and this isnt an ethnic battle or race war....The truth is the truth through anyones eyes.

There are plenty of fighters who have dedicated their lives to the sport and who absolutely would die in the ring if they had to.

Joe Frazier, Aaron Pryor, Arturo Gatti, Antonio Margarito, Manny Pacquiao, Marvin Hagler, Muhammad Ali, Juan Manuel Marquez, Arthur Abraham(i put him as a mention because he beat miranda with a broken and lacerated jaw and has never quit, even when getting his ass beat) to name a few.

There are just some men with unbreakable wills. If you want them to surrender or quit, then you have no choice but to kill them because their bodies will break long before you break their heart.

Yeah "Die in the ring" can Maybe and again I say maybe fit INDIVIDUALS but for an ethnic group to claim it....they must be drunk or on drugs because we know damn well it fits NO ETHNIC GROUP...Especially the ones who claim it the most.

Well it seems to be heard the most from Mexican fighters, it may just be a part of their mental state and preparations. It is hard to say who will and who will not die in the ring. I mean technically someone who has never quit can say that right? I mean there are some people who I feel meant it in the truest sense of the word and you can tell by their actions...Gatti, Corrales, Bradley, Duk Koo Kim (who did die in the ring basically), Israel Vasquez, the list goes on and on. I have to call it like I see it and Angulo plain old quit, regardless of how bad the injury was. Hopkins fought one handed with a dislocated shoulder, Vitali wanted to fight on with his eyebrow ripped off basically, many fight through horrible or gruesome injuries. Angulo's injury was bad do not get me wrong, it looked monstrous but either way, he quit.

A lot of fighters have been willing to die in the ring. Not exaggerating either, they were willing to die.

Both Ali and Frazier were probably dangerously close to death in their third fight. Ali famously said it was the closest he ever felt to death.
