I have noticed that to, Maybe he needs to invest in a good strenght and nutritionist coach and pack on some more motor displacment, instead of all that excessiv fat.
I think he looked good. At some point its each one having his own body and everyone being different. Lopez looked lean and ripped, and look waht good it did him. Maidana ahs said before that 147 is a weight in which he feels ok. There's also nice fights for him there. I know I'd love to see a rematch with Khan, and a fight with Broner or Paulie.

Maidana didn't have a mark on his face. He feels good at 147, and looks good at 147. I don't think the chin shots bothered him. It was the body shot that had him caved in. That was a knockdown when he tried to grab Lopez. To his credit Maidana came back with crushing punches and hurt Lopez.
Yes. With today's rules of weighing in the afternoon of the day before the fight he is really too small for welterweight. He looks like he is carrying more fat than a boxer in top condition should. He was always very strong at 140 and I think he can easily make that weight and be very strong at that weight. He is a very good puncher and takes a good punch at welterweight. At 140 he becomes a great puncher with an excellent chin. I think Maidana and Lopez would both do better at 140. Maidana will stay at 147 and I wish him all the best. He is an exciting fighter and a classy guy outside the ring.
He does look real doughy at 147 but I guess its just his build because he has a S&C coach. Come to think of it nobody trained by robert garcia really has an impressive physique: mikey garcia, nonito, rios, maidana etc all have soft looking bodies.
