I think Dawson's best performance was under Scully with the second B-Hop fight, he stuck to his game plan and boxed beautifully all night. In this fight he was careless from the outset with hands held low, not feeling out the opponent etc.. I guess the question on my mind is whether Dawson would have fought differently from the opening bell under Scully?
What impact did Leaving Iceman John Scully Have on Dawson's Loss?

Honestly I don't think it would have mattered who the trainer was. PLus I don't give Scully any credit for that fight. He is not really a good trainer and I bet you that he will never ever train any one with the skill and talent level of a DAwson ever againI think Dawson's best performance was under Scully with the second B-Hop fight, he stuck to his game plan and boxed beautifully all night. Scully was good for him, he changed trainers because he thought they were the problem but the problem is in his head and attitude. He seemed very arrogant and dismissive of Scully even though that dude has known him for a VERY long time.
At this point he needs to get back down to how he was years ago. He can still do it, physically he is still there he hasn't taken much punishment in the ring like say a Barrera/Morales etc, he just has to fix whats between his ears and box smart but also remain active. He has a tendency to throw very little at times and this can allow his opponent to start to dictate and land the first shot. When the opponent has the amount of power Stevenson has, it's not really a good idea.Comment

Scully wouldn't of made a difference to the result that happened last night.
Dawson got caught, simple as.
I liked Scully as a trainer for Dawson though, he kept it real and did a good job of keeping Dawson engaged in fights.Comment

I think it's a question of causality in here. I don't think think that leaving Scully is the cause of his bad performance last night. I think leaving Scully is the effect of Dawson having some attitude problems and blaming everything around him instead of himself, and this is the real reason of his bad performance last night.
So leaving Scully is not the cause of his last performance but just another effect of Chad's attitude.Comment

Much respect to Scully but he had no effect on the loss. With Scully or without him Chad left himself open for a good shot. Maybe with Scully the Ward fight doesn't happen because weight draining is a quick way to shorten a career but as far as last night no way.I think Dawson's best performance was under Scully with the second B-Hop fight, he stuck to his game plan and boxed beautifully all night.
