papa Joe is correct to a certain extent - for froch to say his legacy is up there with Lennox Lewis and pass up the Nigel Benn's / Calzaghe's / etc is simply arrogance - he takes way too many punches - special fighters are gifted, no one ever says this about the Cobra, they just say how tough and brave he is, and how he will's himself to victory - but the thing is that will or shall we say well runs dry at some point ! to avoid Ward and say he is boring etc is saaad - dude just ko'd or shall I say made the 175 king quit , and he beat froch with a broken hand (no postponement) froch is a character and is good for the sport, but his days are numbered without proper adjustments - like the ones he used in the Arthur Abraham fight.

Hopkins is considered by many to be an all time great. Of course he survives, he's 48 years old but it's testament to his ring IQ that he is able to survive and win.

People say it about Gatti all the time. Being a special fighter isn't just about physical attributes, it's also the intangibles like heart and will to win.

One area where Froch is gifted is in terms of punch resistance e.g. Calzaghe got dropped by old Hopkins and Roy Jones. I don't see that happening to CF.

I am sick of all this rhetoric comparing Calzaghe and Froch. Both were/are good, entertaining fighters. The dissing back and forth is dumb.

I have watched B-Hop when he was an up an coming fighter when he use to fight on ESPN Al Bernstein was the announcer at the time, B-Hop almost killed me with the holding, he bored me as far as an all time great I disagree.

Not dissing Froch or Calzaghe, your're right they are both good, not great. Great = Sugar Ray Leanard, Tommy Hearns, Marvin Hagler, Wilfredo Benitez, Roberto Duran, Froch Calzaghe, not!!!

I really am referring to the boxers themselves. I've seen a couple articles where Froch blasts Calzaghe... then Calzaghe blasts Froch. Then people close to each boxer start putting in their two cents like Enzo. It's just dumb and pointless because they will never fight, and they are both champs.

Froch didn't even want to fight Mack. Hearn said he had to convince him to take on a lesser fighter. That fight was for Froch to look good, get the KO win and build hype for Kessler this year.
                I mean last week.

Frank Warren apparently offered him £2.5m to face Cleverly. He wrote it in an article yesterday.

based on what???Please explain??Eubank robbed a number of b level fighters of victories, hardly fought out of Britain and avoided the very best US had to offer.

Nigel benn lost to Collins and struggled to beat Eubank. He was very lucky against Gerald. How would Froch lose to him???

At a younger age to froch Eubank got a beat down to a green calzaghe.

I think nostalgia getting the better of people here.

                  Froch is number 1...

Both Eubank and BENN continually got hit, infact Benn got beaten out of the ring against Gerald Mcclennen. Eubank robbed loads of b level fighters and never tested himself against the best, when he did he got punished. Plus hit a lot on the way.

As for froch getting hit a lot., 11 world level fights in a row home and away and only down once to a flash knockdown. Whos good the real good defence now???
