I mean he was hitting Cotto non stop, no doubt his face took a beating but he caught Cotto all night.

He didn't win but it was much, much closer than people will have you believe.

I had it 7 rounds to 5 for Cotto. One swing round the other way and it could have been a draw. I haven't watched it in a while though.

People look at Malignaggi's face and assume he got beaten up/destroyed in the fight which couldn't be further from the truth.

Boxing is scored round by round and Paulie won more than his fair share.

I think you probably are the only one who thought Paulie won that fight. Maybe Paulie has a close friend or relative that agrees with you. I know Paulie never tried to claim he won the fight and if Paulie thinks he got robbed he tells the world about it.

you lot just listen to the commentators and let them dictate ur thinking. boxing isnt judged by whos face looks better after the fight, boxing is an ART. Its a skill to hit your opponent, its not a skill to have a face that doesnt cut or bruise quick.

Even though he looked beat up I thought he won 5 rounds to Cotto's 7 rounds, I became a Paulie fan that day, I wasnt really bothered by his trash talking Pre-fight but more impress that he talked the talk and then walked the walk against a Cotto that looks like a middleweight after having weighed in 2 days before the fight to give him more time to rehydrate instead of the customary 1 day before fight....Thanks to Arum.

It wasn't a shut out by any stretch but to say Paulie won? Yeah, well, you just keep thinking that.

Unless you're Raskat/Halls of Fame, scoring a fight is usually an easy process. In his sad case, scoring a fight is a process of trying to give as many even rounds as possible to the fighter he hates and anything remotely close to the fighter he likes....generally the non black guy.

The guy that lands the more meaningful punches wins. Cotto landed better shots, more of them, hurt Paulie more and did it more consistently ie. he won the fight clearly.
