I don't think so but then I still remember sigs of Maidana landing one punch while Khan landed something around 450 odd punches, Maidana winning by KO... Anyone remember that sig?

That was just because of Khan, though. People were so confident he'd knock Khan out. From what I remember, no one thought he was the best in the division or anything. Maybe I'm remembering wrong.

It was just happen stance that Maidana may of received moreover than Matthysee. At least I found out about Maidana with his bout with Victor Ortiz then again versus Amir Khan, both were notable names. But then again Matthysee fought Devon Alexander (so-so) and Zab Judah.

I believe Maidana had the more exciting fights when they both started coming to prime time TV. To average American sports fan they could be thought to be the same guy; That guy from Argentina that may or may not have a rat-tail.

Robert Garcia has got Maidana into shape and back to boxing well. not just throwing crude overhand rights... and using that beastly jab.

maidanas hype died after he fought corley and should have lost. that's also the same time khan agreed to finally fight him. coincidences!

After the Ortiz fight and before the Khan fight he certainly was. Some on here were making him out to be the second coming of Duran.

I think Maidana has always been a less refined version of Matthysse. He seems to have improved since Khan's fight, both on boxing and fisical condition. Like Lucas in the past, he didnt seem to find the way to finish the fight even if he was hurting Khan. That was the best of Khan versus a mediocre Maidana. If they fought again I think Maidana would win by KO.
