Comments Thread For: Tomasz Adamek Confirms August 3rd Return, NBC Sports

Former two division world champion Tomasz Adamek (48-2, 29 KOs) has confirmed his return for August 3rd at the Mohegan Sun in Uncasville. NBC Sports will televise and heavyweight Eddie Chambers, who lost a close decision to Adamek in 2012, is also fighting on the card. Adamek has been inactive since the December controversial decision win over Steve Cunningham. The Polish star says he took some time off to get his body in order. Against Cunningham, Adamek said he lacked speed and felt tired after a busy schedule of four fights in 2012. Adamek's opponent will be revealed soon.

He shouldn't be, even in the thin division. He got a gift against Cunningham, and the gap between him and Wlad is so far it ain't even funny.

The gap is as big as Wlad against anyone.

It wont be Fury, some lesser US fighter and maybe Banks or Arreola rematch later.

I meant to edit not to reply to my previous post.

Somewhat true, but Wlad would be competitive in any era. Adamek would not be in most. He has heart and durability, but he lacks the power of a true hw. I think he was a good cruiser, but he is not a good hw. I don't even see him being competitive w smaller heavyweights like Holyfield and even Byrd. Holyfield would have abused him, and Byrd would have put on a clinic. I just don't think anyone will remember his hw contention twenty or ten years from now. I also lost a great deal of respect for adamek when he pulled out of his last fight. I believe he knew he wouldn't win.
