Comments Thread For: Alfredo Angulo Discusses Rematch With James Kirkland

Alfredo “El Perro” Angulo is always reluctant to talk about future opponents or fights as he likes to only concentrate on the opponent in front of him. Angulo will look to get himself back in the mix in the junior middleweight division when he takes on Erislandy Lara on June 8th at the Home Depot Center in a fight where the winner will almost surely move on to secure a big name fight.

When Angulo was on the most recent episode of BoxingScene Radio, he opened up about other opponents and fighters; something he seldom does. One fighter that was brought up during his interview was James Kirkland who was the last fighter to hand Angulo a loss back in 2011.

Kirkland was also a recent guest on BoxingScene Radio and said not only would he give Angulo a rematch, but said he would be victorious once again against his Mexican counterpart. [Click Here To Read More]

Kirkland really took himself out of the big picture. He has been inactive for so long alongside with his surgery it will be a while till he is in top shape. Good way to waste his prime

like so many othersKirk has wasted a good portion of his prime cuz of injuries & ignorance...2 fight AA again is a step back, especially after AA loses 2 Lara...Kirk needs 2 go forward...he also needs a better trainer than Wolfe who's nothing but an old school copycat, he needs 2 learn still...

Angulo needs to focus on Lara before speaking on anyone else.....

True - too much inactivity. I'd say keep Wolfe as a strength/conditioning coach, but he definitely needs a real trainer to tighten up that jail house rock style of his......

"Old school copycat"... Lol. What a moronic way of trying to degrade a trainer!!!

GBP should put on a rematch double header with Angulo/Kirkland II and Ortiz/Berto II. That would be the sickest card of the year.

This. I think Berto gets redemption and if Kirkland keeps Wolfe he stomps angulo again.

Whoever said Kirkland needs to be without Wolfe is dumb as hell especially since last time he tried to "learn to box" with a different trainer, he loss to Ishida. Wolfe brings out the warrior in him.

Hell yeah "el perro" & "the mandingo warrior" again. Cant wait. Doggy got careless & punched himself out last time. Probably had a hangover haha! Hope its different this time around. I'd also like 2 see a rematch with Molina. he was winning the fight b4 they DQ'd em'.

One of these two vs. Canelo would have been more ideal instead of Money. Not excited with CW BS. Really do.
