Greatest Title DEFENSE who have ever watched

Alot of guys win belts in exciting fights, but what was the best title defense you have seen... When a longtime champ met a huge challenge and came away victorious...

For me its SRL defending against Hearns...

For those that dont know much about hearns, think paul williams body with lucas mathyse power, larry holmes jab, and vernon forrest boxing skills

also really liked hopkins vs tito and Serg vs chavez jr just because chavez is huge and anytime he started to land something and gain momentum, Serg showed a heart of a champion and just came firing back, especially the last 6 rounds....

It saddens me that you actually have to explain Thomas Hearns to posters around here.

True but i wasnt alive to see it, but yes, if i was alive that would probly be #1

Also Calzaghe beating Lacy and Kessler were both great defenses

Great pick. If that fight was a PPV today, no doubt it would've broken records.

Ali/Frazier 1 was basically the HW equivalent to Pac/Floyd. Mind blowing type stuff.

I just don't know how somebody could refer to themselves as a 'boxing fan' and not know anything about Thomas Hearns. His era wasn't technically my era, either. I was born a month after his second fight with Leonard.
