Amir is a straight warrior,, He never tried to clinch vs garcia when in trouble, he was looking to land his own big shot.
Thats why amir is one of my faves.. Doesnt try to outpoint guys, he goes for the spectacular win and sometimes gets caught

hell yea. and unlike other fighters that are beloved here, khan actually always takes tough fights. he doesnt cherry pick at all even though he can. even though he has lost he still looks to fight the best competition. khans the man and will beat alexanders ass

I have seen guys with suspect chins, actually get a better chin as they moved up and didnt drain themselves..

Cotto had a suspect chin at 140.. Torres and chop chop nearly ko'd him
but at higher weights he was never really went down, except for the margs fight but that was due to exhaustion more than a huge punch, and the manny fight but that was a CW fight but i think even at 147 manny would have dropped him, manny was just a beast then and you couldn't see his punches in bunches coming

Over the weekend a story ran on BoxingScene.com in which Golden Boy CEO Richard Schaefer said that he was close to finalizing a deal to pit IBF welterweight champion Devon Alexander (25-1, 14KOs) against former unified junior welterweight champion Amir Khan (28-3, 19KOs). According to the article Dubai is strongly being considered to host the event.

Yesterday Alexander's trainer and manager Kevin Cunningham made it clear that they would only consider taking the fight in Dubai if the money was huge.

The thing that shocks me more than the comment made by Cunningham is the civility and respect of people on this board. New here but i've been on other online forums for quite a while and never have I seen so many people call a spade a spade without trying to sugar coat or justify a clearly inappropriate statement. Kudos to boxingscene's members.

Not really. They're all pretty much turbans, they just tie them up differently.

Arabs would wear them in the old days but now it's mostly only their clerics that wear them. Shia clerics wear either a black turban or a white one depending on their lineage while those 'square hats' you were referring to are worn by mainstream sunni clerics, a white cloth tied around a red fez introduced during the Ottoman era.

Indian sikhs on the other hand are all obligated to wear one, ordinary adherents included.

Turban styled headgear was even worn in ancient Balkan (Europe) times even before the introduction of Islam there.

Cunningham's comment was not racist, he didn't make a disparaging comment about Khan's race or nationality. His comment doesn't make any sense which is the reason people are reaching and trying to turn it into something based on their own personal interpretation. Cunningham was trying to come up with a catchy comment but ended saying something totally nonsensical in the process.
