Good lord the nonsense in this place, it truly is embarrassing for this site.
well leonard did say he picked both duran and hagler at the most opportune time. not to mention the way he picked hearns for the last fight was questionable too. but at the same time, he picked great fighters. its hard to argue his place in history. but like he said, he was very smart at sniffing out advantages.

Yeah no. What I said is the truth. Leonard, by his own admission, demanded an immediate rematch because he knew Duran would not be in peak condition.

I bet you seen it on replays only hu?

Duran quit, that was the definition of schooling.
i always thought of a schooling as just outskilling a guy completely
does this mean margarito schooled cotto?

anyway, for such a schooling that leonard was puttin on for the most part all he did was make faces and run away, he didn't land much at all in the rematch

Difference is, Leonard and his followers - far as I know - never led a four year campaign towards diminishing and denigrating his rivals victories on the basis that he required a catchweight to do so. That's why Mayweather has been relentlessly trashed for the catchweight against Alvarez.

Leonard, in his prime, made the big fights happen in his division. Totally different animal to what he became later on.

A lot of u ***** mutha ****as are so full of hate for one fighter that you are ready to throw dirt on ANOTHER fighter from the past that supports the fighter of today that YOU do not like lol. It really is a shame! Sugar ray Leonard is for sure an all time great fighter with arguanly the greatest resume of all Tim, at least top 5 resume's ever. But since he said something supporting Floyd, now people hate on the man lol. Granted, I'm not saying all of u. But some of u here are just wrong for this. I saw and read a few of the responses and I am honestly shocked! Sugar Ray Leonard took out 4 all time guest fighters and stopped 2 or 3 of them in their prime lol. But you want to hate on th man cause of hat he said supporting Floyd and of course you HATE Floyd lol. I will admit though, Leonard would have stopped Floyd in a 15 round fight lol

A fighter is made outside and inside the ring. What you do in your discipline and work ethic, makes you a great fighter. If Duran wasn't in shape, too ***in bad, that's on him being a fat lazy bum.

If Leonard would have waited and beat him, the excuse would have been something else.

Too ***in bad he got schooled by a better fighter. Leonard is an ATG and not only beat Duran, but made him quit. END OF STORY.

Margarito was losing the first 7 rounds in that fight, are you seriously comparing the two?

*** people, let's have some serious conversations and stop with the nonsesne. Jeeezus ***in Christ....

Leonard is a great fighter but he also did a lot of shady stuff, those are not mutually exclusive.

Anyone acting like he is a saint that did no wrong has zero clue about SRL, he was the big stick of that era and anyone who is the big stick will always get over on other guys in boxing that is just how the sport works, if you can not handle the truth of that then boxing is the wrong sport for you~
