I think Trout would give Mayweather a lot more trouble than Canelo

I'm re-watching the Canelo- Trout fight right now, and Trout is doing a lot better than I remember. He has such an excellent and active jab. He throws it from range, he throws it with pop, and he throws it with great regularity.

That's exactly what would give Floyd a lot of problems and give him something to think about. Not to mention Trout is a well conditioned southpaw in his prime who can move and has great footwork.

How do you guys think Trout would do against Mayweather?

i dunno why ppl say this. a southpaw without a straight punch and with accuracy issues isnt beating floyd. trouts only advantage is his size.

Just look at his jab man.... it's the best Floyd has ever come up against, and what gives Mayweather problems? A steady active jab.

Trout doesn't use his straight because he likes to move and throw his jab from range. Which is another thing that would give mayweather problems especially because trout has a couple inches on him.

I'm watching him Jab Canelo's ass to death right now. He throws it quickly, from range, with pop and with regularity.

          How is it horrible?

The best jab he's seen is probably oscar, and outside of his prime, oscar wasn't throwing it as quickly or as sharply as i'm watching trout right now.

Also Oscar isn't as good at controlling the range as trout. Oscar was chasing floyd, but with trout's range, he would be better off moving backwards against floyd, and forciing floyd to come to him while he sharpshoots from a distance.

Dude you forgot to mention Trout was missing with 70% of those jabs. Canelo was moving his head very well and actually outboxed Trout iMO, even if he was fighting in spurts.

Floyd would adjust to trout very quickly and start to time and make Trout miss his shots. At the Elite level even a slight difference in speed can be a big factor and floyd is quicker and has better reflexes. Canelo had trout a bit confused, Floyd will really make him frustrated.

The only thing that would be of advantage to Trout is the weught cause floyd isnt his best above 147 but still good enough.

I agree that trout would be tougher than canelo just because of styles,

Mayweather doesnt fight pure boxers.... Go down the list of opponents and its all punchers and boxer-punchers,
No casamoyer, freitas, spinks, winky, vernon forrest,

Just find it interesting that floyd has never fought a guy with pure boxing abilities..

Mosely, oscar, zab come close and all three had their moments but was either to hold to hang for 12 rounds or too mentally weak to make adjustments

I think Trout would have a chance to win but I would favor Floyd. I think Canelo is the guy to beat Mayweather.
