Anybody else thought Trout beat Canelo?

We are hearing now from a lot of people that Floyd vs Canelo is "the fight of the century". Well, I see it like this: Canelo never fought a prime, top opponent until Trout, so Trout was the first BIG test for him; and on my scorecard Trout won this fight. Only by 1 point, but still he won.
So - Floyd vs Canelo can be sold by the media as such a big fight for only one reason: because both have a lot of PPV buyers.
Anybody wanting to tell me Canelo is a top 40 p4p fighter at this point has got to be joking.
I see it like this: Canelo is physically bigger than Floyd, actually he is the first natural light middleweight Floyd will be facing (Oscar and Cotto came from much lower weight classes when they fought Floyd at 154).
But as far as I am concerned, Canelo is a good fighter who never fought ANYBODY in his prime except Trout who he lost to.

I remember FightScorer's thread that listed all the collected scores had it pretty much 50-50 among journalists, and 60-40 Trout among fans. I'm one of them that thought Trout won.

So yeah, a lot of people thought Trout won.

Are you serious? First off, Canelo won the fight....he got the win and it's over and done with. Secondly, Trout missed more punches than he landed (it wasn't because he has a habit of doing that either), and had never been down in a fight or in sparring prior to the Canelo fight but for some reason got dropped by Canelo.

Canelo has over 40 wins, has more KO's than Floyd does, and is undefeated. Whenever Canelo chose to press the action against Trout, he immediately had Trout backing up and he was pretty much landing counter right hands at will. He also showed an aspect of his game that literally no one thought he had with his defense in that fight.

Why do you think Floyd wanted a catchweight for this bout if Canelo is just some rando cabby who isn't even in the top 40? Floyd should have been able to spark this guy out in 3 rounds with one arm behind his back....at 154 right?

People just look for ways to discredit this dude, I swear.

Canelo won the fight. It was a close, competitive fight but Canelo was the clear victor. The knockdown sealed the deal for me (don't have my scorecard). I thought Trout was ahead in the round up until that point and the KD caused a 3 point swing (10-9 Trout to 10-8 Canelo). Trout was very active but he missed way too much because of Canelo's defense. Canelo also landed the cleaner/harder punches.

Open scoring ruined that fight though. I think we would've seen a more dominant finish by Canelo if he thought the fight was closer. Trout was game though. He doesn't have anything to be ashamed though. Besides the fact that he never adjusted and couldn't hit a stationary target. I was waiting for him to pot shot the body instead of flailing that useless jab.

Yeah, but many people say Floyd lost to Castillo, so it doesn't really matter.

Only difference is that ten years from now, nobody will be crying like children over the Canelo-Trout fight.

To this day you have butt-hurt, grown men throwing tantrums over Floyd v Castillo in 2001

              Its pathetic.

That said, I didn't see the Canelo Trout fight. I'll watch it later.

Trout lost!!! Even the st crew that ****** him off during their call had him losing. Just cuz your annoyed about people saying this the fight of the century or that Canelo is gonna beat Floyd, doesn't mean u gotta discredit ginger. It's the biggest fight that can be realistically made right now. Smh

When I first saw the fight, I thought Trout was a slight winner. When I watched it again, I thought Canelo won. Trout was throwing his jab, but was not landing it. Also, with open scoring, Canelo knew he was far ahead and took of the later rounds.
