  • Comments Thread For: Juanma Still Wants Donaire, Surprised Rigo Beat Him

Former two division champion Juan Manuel Lopez appeared on his way to the super featherweight division after suffering a second knockout loss to Orlando Salido last year. He fought two fights earlier this year at 128 pounds, leaving the door open for a possible return to the featherweight division.

A fight against newly crowned WBO featherweight champion Mikey Garcia was deemed
too lucrative to pass up so on June 15 the two fighters will square off in Dallas, TX with Garcia's title at stake. On a recent edition of BoxingScene Radio, Lopez told us that there is only one other fight that would entice him to stay at 126 pounds.

Yeah, JuanMa shouldn't get past Mikey, but a fight at 126 with Donaire might be interesting. Lopez is big for 126. He's had trouble making weight for a long time. Nonito has enjoyed some size advantages throughout his rise through the ranks. At featherweight, Donaire will be encountering a few good fighters bigger than him. (Salido would be another dangerous opponent for Nonito.) I think JuanMa still makes for a good fight with anyone at 126. Whether he wins or not is a different story.

Slim chance Juanma wins. I really like him too cuz he's a warrior, fights good competition and has tons of heart and grit. His problem is he has no defense and is too stubborn to try to improve it. Mikey gonna light him up, possible stoppage.

you have any proof of this or are you just spouting lies?
because from what i've seen donaire usually weighs less than his opponents, all he is is taller/longer
