Comments Thread For: Wilder Could Be The Final Piece of The Puzzle For Haymon

By Jake Donovan - Al Haymon has helped several dozen fighters generate several million dollars – and hundreds of millions for one fighter in particular – but has yet to guide one to the heavyweight championship.

All parties involved insist that Deontay Wilder is the one that will help complete a puzzle that began assembly a dozen years ago.

One member of Haymon’s camp described Wilder as “our ticket to the heavyweight championship. We’re taking this kid all the way – you’ll see him on Showtime and soon with the title around his waist.” The American heavyweight isn’t as raw as when he first entered the pro ranks, but still has a way to go before his skill level truly catches up with his career potential.

You can best believe we will see plenty of Wilder, and the smart money is on his eventually receiving a title shot. For the moment, he remains Haymon’s long shot – yet at least a shot – at crowning a king in boxing’s most storied division. [Click Here To Read More]

Wilder still has a tremendous amount to prove. His best win is Audley, and his knockout percentage is crazy, but his resume is not. I hope to see him continue to win so someone can give Wlad a good fight, but again, lots of questions still remain.

Give him time, he will step up or remain a question mark forever.

I will predict this. If Wilder ends up as HW champion of the world he will make more money than Floyd Mayweather Jr. American would love nothing more than to have the "Baddest Man on the Planet" claim.

I think he will get dropped by the first top 10 fighter he fights. He has been fighting bums his whole career. His best opponent was Audley.

                  Exactly!!!!!

Wilder is fun to watch and will be in some entertaining scraps but is not going to become a world champ unless the klits vacant and retire.

I can see Wilder beating someone like adamek for a vacant belt in a few years...

If i have wilder, i would just keep ko'ing bums until i sell out for a klit fight... Get knocked out and then fight everyone under the sun i.e. haye, fury, mitchell, etc

                    False.

If Wilder flukes his way to a title (the kid really isn't very good) or waits out the Klitschkos until they retire, he ain't holding onto it long. When it comes down to it, Floyd keeps the machine going because he's so darn unbeatable. Wilder, especially in a division like the HW one, won't go on a long streak. There is a reason we are this far into his career and he hasn't got a semi-decent win.
