  • Comments Thread For: Fury Withdraws, Pulev Eyes Klitschko-Povetkin Winner

Sauerland Event has revealed that promoter Mick Hennessey, who handles Tyson Fury (21-0, 15KOs), is not interested in going forward with an ordered fight against EBU heavyweight champion Kubrat Pulev (17-0, 9KOs). The two sides had until June 1 to reach a deal or an EBU purse bid would go forward. Hennessey was not interested in taking part in the purse bid.

Fury-Pulev was also an IBF final eliminator, with the winner becoming the mandatory challenger to the October 5th match between unified king Wladimir Klitschko and challenger Alexander Povetkin.

      lmao fail...

Fury can forget a Klitschko fight now... I doubt he'll ever get either brother.

Pulev was a very winnable fight for him. So this move is beyond dumb.

Given his last showing against Cunningham, when he looked like was nowhere near good enough for a title shot, this is a wise move on their part, although a little embarrassing.
