Comments Thread For: Photos: Ishe Smith Putting in Work For Carlos Molina

A look inside the Mayweather Boxing Club as IBF junior middleweight champion Ishe Smith (25-5, 11 KO's) prepares for the first defense of his belt against Chicago's Carlos Molina (21-5-2, 6 KO's)

Smith vs. Molina takes place on July 19th in Las Vegas at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino and there will surely be attractive opportunities awaiting the winner.

Despite scoring a dramatic majority-decision over Cornelius Bundrage this past February, Smith actually began this camp a little bit early. [Click Here To Read More]

Gotta give credit to Smith, a good first defense. I like the guy and he's good enough to hang around in a rather weak 154 division.

yeah I agree, most would go back to fighting bums to keep their title, Molina will be a harder fight then K9 was for Smith!

The thing is he doesn't really have any other choice because TV won't buy his fights otherwise. He isn't popular enough to fight bums for a living.

This is not to say he doesn't deserve props for taking on Molina.

Something tells me this will be a great fight.
I believe Smith has found a new level since
he is IBF champ. Molina will be game for sure.

First off Molina too fast? he has to fight Molina or the networks will not buy his fights? You guys must not watch / follow / or pay attention to the game. Molina is not known as a really fast guy ! He is very crafty at being able to offset and smother your offense ! I do not know of any networks outside espn that shows him besides the occasional hbo / showtime look. But ishe has a very difficult style to deal with also, he uses ring IQ and should be able to out box king carlos Molina. Ishe did the right thing to give him a shot when he did not have to, I would really like to see Carlos give him his props for doing so. Ishe's style will be difficult for Molina, the sparring Ishe is getting at the Mayweather gym will prove to be a key along with Mustafa Muhammad as his trainer helping with adjustments
