As a huge Ward fan, I would have preferred Froch sticking to his guns about the rematch being in the UK. That would be some atmosphere.

And this is why Carl is respected and Ward is regarded by most as a joke. Even as the draw, he's still prepared to go back to this guys backyard. Mad props to Carl for this.

He's actually regarded as the top fighter in the super middleweight division and one of the best fighters in the world by most.

That said, I have no objection whatsoever about the fight happening in the UK.

You obviously need a tutorial on Geography. New Jersey and Oakland are not the same city. Alantic City is in NJ not Oakland ok chap or do u guys still use mate?

In my opinion it seems that Froch is doing nothing more than simply talking. Everyone knows that whether or not Andre Ward style is boring soooo what!!!! To be the best you have to beat the best period!!! Andre Ward beat Froch already. So how does he call the shots? Froch clearly stated he wanted to avenge his loss. If your trying to AVENGE a loss how can you call the shots?

You may have had a point if say Ward hadn't already whooped Froch's a$$. But, since he has in fact already whooped his a$$ Ward doesn't need an excuse if he doesn't fight Froch again.

Froch didn't say AC was hometown. All he said was that Ward should come to fight him in the UK but if he refuses to then Vegas is the most neutral place in the US to stage the fight.

Vegas does have a better reputation than other places in the US but given the series of robberies that have occurred there (mostly against foreign fighters) I don't think it's significant any more.

I rather suspect this has more to do with Froch wanting the prestige of fighting in Vegas if he can't get the fight in the UK.

Me too. This is not a winnable fight for Froch so he wants to maximize money and fame. Not sure if Vegas gets him more money because he could sell out the O2 and Ward could not guarantee the same outside Oakland; but headlining a main event at the MGM, for example, would be a big boost to his name.

That said, he'll probably entertain other fights in the UK first and keep a non-UK Ward event for last.
