I really like the TX guys. Spence seems to have a very high ceiling possibly, though its very early on and he hasn't fought a live body.

OT I was just checking his record, and found a surprising fact about amateur Banteaux from Cuba:

        2009 (as a welterweight)
Defeated Errol Spence (United States) 11-1
Lost to Mikael Zewski (Canada) 2-5
Hmm interesting. I just took a look at Banteaux on youtube . He's pretty good. Cubans are always excellent amateurs it seems (good pros as well). They know how to score points.

TBH I was more surprised Zewski was able to beat him, didn't know he had international experience. Spence has for sure gotten much better.

Another fun one I found today, for Thurman opponent Chaves, quite old:

2007 Pan American Games bronze medalist in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
          Defeated Taureano Johnson (Ba*****) 9-6
Lost to Demetrius Andrade (United States) 0-22

I'm not gonna judge Arnett's chin just yet. If I remember right his last fight he was going back and forth with the guy and stayed up. With that said he shouldnt be having these mini wars this early in his career. He should be blowing these guys out of the water.

                    that must have been embarrassing.

andrade is big, fast, and coordinated. i can imagine he was a rough go in the amateurs.

if physical talent was all a fighter needed he'd be the goods. he's got a lot of learning and growing up to do before he can become a top pro. i also don't think he takes punches well. he's got a lightly boned face. his nose looked jacked up in his last fight, even though he didn't take a lot of punches.

Exactly. He should be mowing these guys down without any problems but I still like him. I'm hoping these early struggles build character and he learns from them. Wiggins hit him with a beautiful, hard counter. Arnett was badly hurt but he came back and stopped him in the next round. I choose to look at the glass half full. Terrell Gausha is another prospect who's struggled at times early on.
