  • If Froch fights fortysomethings like Calzaghe did, will it improve his legacy?

For instance if he got in the ring with Steve Collins and legend James Toney, or Toney and Eubank (senior). Would this make him an ATG, beating up fatboy fortysomething former legends who might outbox him for a few rounds but would gass and fade fast.

Or would he cement his status further by fighting prime top ranked contenders who are on a run of victories against the best in the division?

A third option would be to fight a string of unknown bums for another 10 years of such low quality that he would be in no danger of losing, would this improve his legacy better?

To be honest, if he was able to beat Bernard Hopkins even now, it's his best win by far.

Froch would lose to a near fifty year old version of Hopkins.

a 50something Bhop, really? at 50, the clock ticks fast on your lungs, every extra minute in a marathon. Bernard would surely fade too quick before he could hurt Froch's granite chin, granted he would definitely outbox Froch for 3 or 4 rounds but that wont win a 12 round fight.

It would be Scary Dawson 2 all over again.

Calzaghe's win over Bhop is still better than any win on Froch's (notably good) resume.

For instance if he got in the ring with BHOP now.......he would lose to a 50 year old man, the same man that Calzaghe beat.
