Comments Thread For: Leo Santa Cruz-Victor Terrazas: Golden Boy Win Bid

BoxingScene.com has been advised that Golden Boy Promotions won the WBC's purse bid for the mandatory fight between WBC super bantamweight champion Victor Terrazas (37-2-1, 21KOs) and mandatory challenger Leo Santa Cruz (24-0-1, 14KOs). Golden Boy bid $526,000, while Zanfer Promotions put down $451,000.

The belt became vacant when Abner Mares moved up to the featherweight division. Terrazas captured the title last month with a close twelve round split decision over Cristian Mijares.

golden boy was represented at today's purse bid by ramiro "dinero" gonzalez, who now holds a 4-0 record in purse bids. Gonzalez credits his fast climb in the purse bid pound-for-pound ranks to hard work, dedication and math skills. Before he participates, gonzalez holds his lucky charm and lights a catholic candle. He whispers a few prayers and then enters the purse bid to clean house.

          lol................

Hopefully they do put this on the Mayweather-Alvarez undercard. Terremoto needs to continue to be exposed to as wide an audience as possible. Along with Roman Gonzalez, the dude is probably the aesthetically pleasing fighter to watch in the sport right now.

Not really. Mares is better and doing it vs better opposition.

This is a really good fight. Ive seen Victor live and he can scrap. This isn't business as usual for Santa Cruz, fighting against super flyweights passed their prime. Not hating, simply stating. Pick 'em fight.
