The junior middle limit - reality

The weight limit for the boxing class is 148-154 lbs.

Anything that falls between 148 lb and 154 lbs is the super welterweight limit.

Please respect all fighter that are dedicated to make this weight and don't blow it on the scales.

Please respect all fighters if fighter (a) weights 148 lbs and fighter (b) weights 152 lbs....this is still within the junior middle division.

This has been the rules for this particular weight class since 1962.....1962.

We must all learn to live with this and respect it.

Well yea... that's why both titles are on the line.
Everyone is complaining that the ceiling for the weight is down two pounds and Canelo is a big kid who might have trouble keeping it down.

Couldn't even make the catchweight for his own title fight

That's fine. Come in at any weight within that range. The issue here is that the weight has been capped at 152lbs. People say that 2lbs is nothing......if it's nothing then why bother?

148-154 not 148-152 floyd is a fraud. cotto is basically undefeated he said. he only fights opponents at their best he said. the very same floyd that you love said these things. it must be hard to pick which floyd to listen to.

Queen_Ellerbe at it again. He doesn't even know what to say or do anymore to defend Mayweather.

Serious question, what's Canelos most comfortable weight then?

I would have preferred 154, I believe Money beats Canelo @ 154. The catchweight will give people ammo against Money to say Canelo was drained etc..... It will at the end of the day taint his victory if he wins. Canelo came in at 153 vs No Doubt I believe he can make 152 without it effecting him more then normal, so it's not that big a deal at the end of the day because Canelo will be @ 170s come fight night.

To add we all know Canelo will have the size and power advantage come fight night. Money will be eating to make 152, Canelo will be draining down to make it. On fight night Money will come in under 152, Canelo will be in the 170's. This catchweight seems fair when you look at it that way, both fighters agreed to it, they aren't complaining then we shouldn't ether.
