  • Comments Thread For: Afolabi Has Made Many Adjustments For Huck Trilogy

Ola Afolabi has come up short in each of his two attempts at wresting the cruiserweight crown from Marco Huck. The British cruiserweight hopes the third time is a charm when the pair meet once again on June 8 in Germany.

Their rematch last May ended in a draw, also serving as Afolabi’s last ring appearance as he has been out of the ring for more than a year. The tie verdict was debatable but generally viewed as a fairer outcome than was the case in his disputed points loss to Huck in Dec. ’09.

Afolabi the most underrated British fighter out there for me and carries a very deceptive record. At a glance you'd probably scoff at a 19-2-4 record with only 9 k.o's but damn hes improved immensely and hits a **** ton harder than his record shows.

I feel he'll do enough to get a decisive victory this time out. Huck better be ready and if he looks anything like he did against Arslan he'll be getting stopped.

Afolabi was doing great in their second fight with huck until he gassed out !
But still showed tremendous heart at the end by not going down!
If his condition is right this time he can beat huck even in germany

I don't care about this fight but at least let's get things straight.. it's making corrections for the THIRD fight of an eventual trilogy. It's not a trilogy until after the third fight.

Since when was the result of the first fight disputed or generally considered questionable?

There is no way Afolabi won that fight; a far better argument can be made that he won the rematch.

Afolabi had no amateur career just like Huck who was a kickboxer before he started boxing as a pro. But Afolabi is the more talented of the two and he has just half as manny fights as Huck. If he has improved for this and is physically in better shape he will win.
