Virgil Hunter, the trainer for super middleweight king Andre Ward (26-0, 14KOs), told BoxingScene.com that he believes promoter Eddie Hearn has no intention of placing IBF/WBA "regular" champion Carl Froch (31-2, 22Kos) in the ring with Ward.
Because of Froch's ticket selling abilities in the UK, Hunter says Hearn will attempt to get a few more fights out of Froch before finalizing a deal for a Ward rematch.
Hunter says Hearn, following Froch's rematch victory over Kessler, was calling for a rematch with Ward. But the trainer points out that Hearn quickly changed his focus the following day to a trilogy match with Kessler.
