Nah, I'm only kidding but I would love to see this. Eddie Heard said on iFilm London that he'd match these two up if DeGale somehow gets himself back into the spotlight. For now, it seems unlikely as Groves is on the brim for a World Title (even if I think he needs around 4 fights until he's ready - McGee would be a good one, Dirrell and Abraham). Groves has previously sparred with Dirrell but I seem to remember saying that he tried to take it easy with Groves - can't say the same now...with Groves having almost amount of fights.
Meanwhile, DeGale has had a good run of fights, fighting often although he's been showing signs of ****ing with his opponents a bit more than many people would like to see.
If these guys ever fought again, how do you pan it out, given the fact that their first fight was very close with 50% or near 50% of people having the fight for DeGale. If they switched places, where would they both be? Would DeGale be a Champion by now?
This is my second time writing this thread - something happened to my first one but I was out at that time and couldn't log back on to see what happened to it - maybe it was removed or perhaps my cell phone internet failed, hence why no thread was created.
Really good interview with Eddie Hearn on Matchroom Boxing - 80 minutes:
