Realistic fights to improve wards legacy

Why should it be unrealistic though?
The guy in your avatar did it, and he's smaller in terms of lean mass than Ward is, toney and Jones both fought legit heavyweights, chambers is a cruiser/small heavy
I don't see why it's such a crazy idea if people are putting ward in that Jones and Toney classComment

Ward at Cruiserweight is ****** to me, maybe because I grew up a Hagler fan who is still my favorite fighter ever and he stayed at Middleweight no matter what, if Duran, Hearns or Ray Leonard wanted to fight him...they all had to come to 160 to get a shot a Marvelous!
With Ward I think he should and will stay at 168 because it is a division that could heat up in the next year or so, because it is guys at 160 who are big Middleweights and could easily move up in the next few years or so: GGG, Quillin and Chavez Jr., those would all be big fights and big paydays for Ward
Also you have up and comers at 168 now with a lot of talent like George Groves, Thomas Oosthuizen, Edwin Rodriguez, James DeGale, Marco Antonio Periban to name a few
Ward is 29...NOT 39! Time is not running out for Ward to make bigger paydays and bigger fight, all of that is going to come eventually, all he can do is keep tearing up what ever is put in front of him until a good opponent emerges which will happen...I personally don't see anybody at 160-175 that can beat Ward at the moment but we shall see! At one point I thought the Dirrell Brothers would be Ward's toughest competition but Anthony Dirrell had a lot of bad luck outside of the ring and Andre can't stay active against good competition, he should be overseas fighting guys he did not get a chance to fight in the Super 6, Kessler would be a good fight for him!Last edited by sicko; 05-30-2013, 05:32 PM.Comment

Hopkins wants no part of Ward, and he's made that clear, which sucks for Ward, because it's a fight that could propel Ward to the next level of personal marketing.
That said, I'm glad that fight never happens, because it's a boring one.
Chad Dawson doesn't want a rematch, and I don't think there's much demand for one.
Froch is certainly a possibility, but that fight is not very interesting in my opinion.
There are two fighters out there that could produce a mega fight for Ward, but they both need time to improve their own marketability:
JC Chavez, Jr.

I think the first thing he needs to do is get some PR advice, his interview style doesn't make him sound confident but really rude.
You could fight anyone and if you don't make yourself either likable by being nice or cool, you'll never be a massive star, which is a shame for someone with that talent.Comment
