Cotto vs Margarito II catch weight of 153lbs

This is another catch-weight that I didn't like and thought was uncalled for. Its my belief that Cotto did it to show who is boss since he had already been campaigning at 154lbs. Even though Floyd has not been campaigning at the weight he has fought there recently. I do think Floyd had more respect for Cotto as well. The fight is a great fight even with the catch-weight but it would have been a nice gesture to just do it at 154lbs. I don't think it will matter its just the principal of it. I don't it ruins the fight or anything. I expect Canelo to be more than ready.

Its a shame floyd will lose props when he wins. Should of took it at 154

I think when the fight gets here people will care less about the catch weight and focus on who wins. Canelo will be noticeably bigger than Floyd so that may help too.

That was a weird catchweight. It's a perfect example of a "I have all the power, **** you," type demand.

Can't blame Cotto for wanting to stick it to tony like that after the while plaster fiasco. And still I thought that was lame.

That's all it was really. Originally Cotto asked for a 150 pounds but settled on 153.

There was a bit of an uproar about the 150lbs demand. Even the 153lbs was exactly embraced but people forgot about it by the time the the guys were in the ring.

One meaningless fight deserves another I guess

Catch weights are only fair when some of your favorite boxers do it. Double standards like a motherfucker! Can't really tell who's really a true boxing fan anymore.
