The boxing world stood in delight when both sides confirmed that Floyd Mayweather Jr. (44-0, 26KOs) will fight Mexican star Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (42-0-1, 26KOs) for the WBC/WBA junior middleweight titles on September 14th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
The fight takes place at a catch-weight of 152-pounds, which is two pounds below the junior middleweight limit.
Mayweather Promotions CEO Leonard Ellerbe made it known that there is no rehydration clause, which clears the way for Canelo to put on as much weight as possible on the day of the fight.
