    Drained fighter's Records/ Community Project

Lets compile a record of fighters who had to move down to get the fight/payday they desired....just to see who really benefits.

The only ones I can think of are:

DLH went down to 147 to fight Manny: LOST
Cotto went down to 145 to fight Manny: LOST
Margarito went down to 152(?) to fight Cotto: LOST
Dawson went down to 168 to fight Ward: LOST

That's all I've got from the top my head. Any others? WON or LOST, chime in. Lets see if Canelo is putting himself behind the eight ball or if history shows its no big deal.

Roy Jones Jr. went to heavyweight to fight Ruiz and dropped 20 pounds to fight Tarver.

Chris Byrd tried dropping to 175 and got knocked out.

Ray Leonard dropped from 168 to 154 to fight Terry Norris and had nothing.

Same happened to Emile Griffith as he dropped from middleweight to welterweight to fight Napoles.

And Chad Dawson, Chad Dawson Chad.......

So far weight drained fighters are 1-8 as per our results. Can anyone think of any others?

most of the time it doesn't work out, which is obvious. Though it is important to note most fighters have been doing it late in their careers, whilst Canelo is still a young man. It won't impact him as much imo.

Whitaker beat Chavez Sr. while coming down for a catchweight.

Terry Norris beat Meldrick Taylor while coming down for a catchweight

Hopkins beat De La Hoya/Wright/Pavlik ALL at catchweights
