"regular sized" is opinion based. as long as a fighter comes in at the division limit the day before the fight, any "rehydration" is allowed. it's been this way ever since Boxing did away with same-day weigh-ins. some fighters choose to only rehydrate a handful of pounds. other fighters balloon up. it's allowed, and isn't up for debate. period. that's a fact.


"huge" for a jr. middle is opinion, and irrelevant to the fact that he's allowed to rehydrate to whatever weight he's comfortable at on fight-night. Victor Ortiz weighed in at 147 against Floyd Mayweather, and rehydrated to 164 on fight night. Floyd weighs in at 147-150 during his stints at WW/JMW and we can only guess that he doesn't rehydrate much beyond that as he doesn't list his fight-night weights.


you're right, he wanted to gain an unfair advantage given the fact that he himself doesn't gain substantial weight between weigh-in and fight night, whereas this particular opponent feels comfortable doing so. whether or not the advantage (in Mayweather's opinion) is psychological or physiological is up for debate.



that isn't a fact, it's an opinion. but one that I agree with. but criticizing Mayweather for a catchweight doesn't mean I don't want to see the fight. I wanted the fight to have zero loopholes for people to use after he wins the fight (and he will win the fight), but now he's given the haters he so adamently dislikes ammunition to use against him. something he clearly didn't need to do (catchweight at 152).

Have zero doubt Floyd would have beat a 154 Canelo, Floyd is such a dummy. He isnt as confident in his own abilities, as the fans who watch him be amazing out there. Now the fight will always have a slight question to it, cong**** Floyd. smh.

Canelo weighed in at 153 vs Trout whats 1pound? Floyd never ever weighed in at 154 he weighed in at 152 vs Cotto. Floyd cant make 154 and Canelo can make 152 otherwise he wouldnt agree. Canelo is 22, floyd is over 35. Catchweight Still gives a weight advantage to canelo just 2pounds less. Fight night Canello will be 170lbs instead of 172lbs and mayweather will be 152-155lbs.

Floyd will beat Canelo like he beat Guerrero, by hugging, running like a coward, hitting with elbows, using racist remarks, influencing judges and other goodies. Floyd cloudn't even KO nor hurt a much smaller fighter. you guys are fooling yourselves if you thought floyd was gonna let ginger come in at 154 and blow up to 172. he fought cotto at 154 (which was a welterweight who filled up to jr welterweight) he fought oscar at 154 (who probably came in at 165) canelo could be bigger then both cotto and oscar easily (172) thats just ridiculous.....i don't think mayweather even wants to fight at 154 anymore so thats why it's a catch weight of 152...........in my honest opinion it's a little b*tchy on floyds part but completely fair considering how big canelo is. 152 is only 1 pound away from his last fighting weight (153)

except floyd is letting canelo blow up to 172, there's no limit to what canelo can weight in at fight night

which makes this 152lb nonsense laughable, it serves no purpose if you ask me, but you'd have to ask floyd why he did it.
