Comments Thread For: Juanma Feels Time Off Helped Heal Damaged Body

It’s been more than a year since Juan Manuel Lopez has fought at the championship level, after having spent the previous four years as a titlist or challenger. The Puerto Rican southpaw returns to that level of the sport when he faces top featherweight Miguel Angel Garcia, June 15 in Dallas, Texas.

The bout marks his first title fight since his 10th round knockout loss to Orlando Salido last March, an ill-fated rematch that was met with a subsequent suspension. Lopez didn’t take the loss very well, insisting that the referee (Roberto Ramirez Sr.) was on the take.

This is gonna be a rough fight for JuanMa, especially when he normally fades late. i hope he can at least look good if he loses.

Watching Lopez the last series of fights has been pretty painful. The guy looks like he's fighting underwater. Anything could help.

I'm ready to see what JuanMa has left in the tank.Lopez has had his ups his downs in the sport,& has been in with different variety's of styles during his career.

But you can never really count a man out who has nothing else to lose & everything to gain (back). Salido has his number, but were passed that now. No disrespect but even the great Marvin Hagler had losses but came back to redeem himself.

So Honestly In my heart & honest opinion, I want to see what Mikey Garcia really has to offer. Garcia looked to be fading with Salido in the later rounds, but was pulled out because of the nose injury, who know what would have happened had he continued.

Juanma's stamina isn't the best I just think with his time off, He'll surprise a lot of people & pull off the upset. I wonder how Mikey's chin hold up I cant wait for this fight.

Juanma needs to bring his A game to this fight, I just hope his defense is on point or he'll be sent home early...that said

His defense has never been on point. I like the guy, but he is getting knocked out here. This will probably be the end of him as an "A" level fighter. I hope he has saved well.
