Comments Thread For: Kevin Mitchell Tops Matchroom Card on 7/6, York Hall

Lightweight favourite Kevin Mitchell returns to action on July 6 at York Hall, Bethnal Green – topping the bill with the Betfair Prizefighter Light Welterweights III live on Sky Sports.

The Dagenham man is aiming to get back on the World title trail after falling to WBO king Ricky Burns in a thrilling challenge in Glasgow on September 22. The 28 year old will begin his quest for honours in a ten-rounder in east London as he looks to makes waves domestically before a second crack at the big prize.

I'm ****ing sick of this ****ing Prizefighter ****e. Start putting more real fights on Sky and Matchroom. Your "schedule" is shamefully non existent.

I was really hopeful that when Matchroom took over from Warren that they'd put on some really good cards...

Don't get me wrong, they do have a good card here and there but way, way too many Prizefighters. It's a novelty format, it won't attract fans and very rarely does it work how they think it will.

Over the hill fighters, novices and the occasional decent fighter does not make for very entertaining viewing. Would much rather see normal cards, Matchroom have the ability to make competitive fights - do it.

He's not in the Prizefighter, mate. Just on the same bill.

Plenty of good domestic bouts for Mitchell to indulge in. Pick any two (outside of Burns) from the top ten & you could have a good bout.

            My bad.

I've always liked Mitchell's fights were he doesn't get killed in them. Should be fun.
