Whether you love or hate him, IMO Broner is generating far too much emotion among fans for the level he's at in his career. At this point, Broner is an attraction. And honestly, his resume doesn't match the attention he's getting. In terms of a Floyd comparison. He's basically about on parallel to where Floyd was right after he beat Genaro Hernandez. And honestly, Hernandez was a helluva lot better than Demarco. I'm not trying to knock AB. I'm a huge fan of his. I made the 4hr drive from Nashville to Cincy to see him fight Escobedo. But I honestly feel like his need to draw, and entertain, will ultimately be his undoing. He's already in a position where they're trying to maximize every one of his fight's revenue potential. That's where this Paulie fight came about. He really doesn't have an opponent at 135 or 140 for this summer that will sell. He caught flack for Rees, who was a legitimate contender. So he had to go to the weight jumping gimmick to create an event. IMO, at this point in his career, he should be building a resume and establishing an identity. He should be racking up title defenses and trying to clean out a division, not manufacture events.
