He did take to the media to clear his name, he used to come on espn to proclaim his innocence but he doesn't speak English so he didn't get much airtime but he did get alot of airtime in mexico.

Is that why he tried to blame his trainer? He said he didn't know he had bricks in his gloves and put the blame on his trainer... I will have to find that link, but I remember that the courts stating the reason for denying his appeal was because no due process violation have occurred, margarito was trying to get his appeal granted under them changing the initial charge violation to another one during his trail and since there is no new evidence that was his only way to try and get an appeal granted. Needless to say it was denied. will updated when I come across the link, It was a PDF I believe of the court records.

How he should have gone about to proclaim his innocence is all subjective. I am sure him and his handlers went the route that they thought was best, is it how you or I would have done it probably not but its the way they went. This doesn't prove or disprove his innocents.
