Just not a great match with Roach. I don't think there's one thing Roach could've showed him....in various interviews Roach praises him as the most skilled and calmest fighter he's ever seen with the only other being Toney. As well as never even laying a hand on Rigo during pads. There were a couple pad sessions where Roach seems to get upset that Rigo does his thing and goes to complain to Rigos corner and the translator tells him exactly what Roach wants from him. Rigo then obviously says oh yeah? And shows Roach how its done and Roach looks lost on the pads and is obviously upset that he can't control teach something that is way more skilled than he could deal with. Brown had better sessions with Rgo. I just think that it was painfully obvious Rigo wasn't going to learn anything there. Rico can't be taught anymore. What he needs is only a strategist a LA Cuban trainer he's with now and to maintain his strict discipline. Besides that he's not going to learn more. He's complete and IMo fights down to the level of competition. We've yet to see his true potential unleashed.
17 Mins of Rigo sparring at Wildcard.
